Product Manager Air Pollution ProductsWestinghouse Apr 1988 - Mar 1990With a World Product Mandate from Westinghouse, we provided high voltage DC power supplies for powering electrostatic precipitators. These precipitators are used on large heavy industrial processes. Coal fired generating stations, cement plants, smelters, pulp and paper mills, all use massive electrostatic precipitators to collect the flyash that would otherwise go up the smokestack. Collection efficiencies of 99.5% were quite common. By reducing cost and increasing price point realization the product line was converted into a profitable group within the London, Ontario operation. Clients were predominantly in the United States and in Europe. A major project in Taiwan required detailed and in depth management, dealing with international suppliers, clients and contractors.
