Lead the development of commercial strategy and built a team of engineers and scientists developing automated laboratory solutions for a global portfolio of genomics products in translational research and clinical diagnostics for Next Generation Sequencing, and Bioinformatics.Key Achievements:▪ Lead the development of the strategic roadmap for the NGS laboratory automation program in alignment with core business functions including scientific support, technical applications, R&D, marketing and sales leadership teams.▪ Delivered program strategic objectives through continuous design, development, validation, deployment, and ongoing support of new automated solutions for our key accounts in USA, EU, China, EMEA markets.▪ Developed new product offerings and revenue streams with key accounts for multiple product lines by initiating and managing 24 new commercial automation projects for key accounts and commercial partnerships involving 43 product applications across 32 unique types of automated liquid handling system in 2016.▪ Increased realized revenue through development of strategic co-marketing commercial relationships with vendors of automated lab equipment such as Hamilton Robotics, Perkin Elmer, Agilent, Beckman Coulter, HighRes Bio, and Tecan.▪ Managed our internal technical support team, consisting of 5+ engineers and scientists, supporting over 84 customers with 178 products across 103 unique automated systems in 2017.▪ Drove continuous process improvement efforts by designing and deploying web-based applications ensuring compliant customer support and case documentation with automated tracking of business unit key performance indicators (KPIs).* Roche Sequencing acquired Kapa Biosystems in 2015. Served as technical development lead while independently managing multiple research and informatics development projects for next generation sequencing based assays implemented for diagnostic testing of rare genetic disorders affecting neurological and mitochondrial developmental diseases.Key Achievements:▪ Decreased assay cost of goods over 50% and turnaround time by 20% through automating numerous error-prone manual processes, reducing reagent utilization, improving operational efficiency, and lab workflow re-design.▪ Lead multiple lab expansion projects to enable the scale of clinical sample volume over 300% from 100 to 400 samples weekly in 2014.▪ Eliminated the potential risk of incorrect patient results delivery by designing and launching a proprietary molecular decontamination and barcoding assay for patient sample identification in 2014.▪ Developed multiple web-based applications to support early start-up Business Process Management (CRM, BPM, MES, and LIMS)

Responsible for new product and process development in CAP/CLIA certified testing facility of rare inheritable diseases. First automation engineer who lead the process scale-up, tech transfer, and validation of hundreds of targeted sequencing panels using NGS and PCR.▪ Developed a proprietary hybridization and amplicon-based target enrichment NGS assay automated on Hamilton STAR to enable the processing of 1000+ hereditary cancer patient samples per month in a CAP/CLIA environment▪ Ensured continuous process improvement by implementing unique chemistries as well as laboratory cost-savings techniques that resulted in increased process capacity and a 17% reduction in sequence data output variability; reducing sample turnaround time by 13%, reducing failure rates by ~5%, significantly reducing reagent costs.▪ Developed and implemented a custom-built LIMS software for R&D sample data management. ▪ Developed full stack for web applications to automate experimental design (DOE) for genomic population studies based off SNP restriction enzyme digestion.
