I am a multi award winning, Managing Director and Chartered Company Director with a proven record in leading and developing businesses within the industrial technology and automation markets, including the highly competitive robotics & automation and sheet metal processing sectors. Over the last 10 years I have been responsible for acquiring and delivering more than €1bn of revenue globally, including multiple complex automation programs with values exceeding €100m. I have delivered performance transformation in 3 global organisations, delivering record sales, revenues, and profits while leading the businesses into UK market leader positions. Within the businesses I have developed class leading customer service, a highly motivated and engaged workforce and world class facilities, while delivering very significant, sustainable, and profitable growth. As a Fellow of the Institute of Directors (IoD) I believe my IoD Chartership has provided a cornerstone for ensuring stable, modern, and effective Leadership and Corporate Governance within all my businesses. It has given me with the knowledge to operate effectively at board level within Global Organisations, continually broadening my experience and capabilities. I regularly consult for other organisations in the automation sector on effective board management, strategic direction and improving company performance. In June 2015 I was awarded the IoD Regional Large Company Director of the Year and placed was runner up in the British National awards. I was also nominated for this award in 2014 and 2021. Over the last 6 years I have also worked closely with the IoD, as a participating director, in IoD University Student Mentoring Programmes.My executive management experience is underpinned by a BEng Hons in Automotive Engineering Design and my Engineering competence is a highly valued commodity. A career progression including roles in Engineering, Project Management, Sales and as Managing Director and CCO, has given me a comprehensive overview of all aspects of business and the experience necessary to succeed in delivering optimised performance in sectors that require the development of new markets, new technologies and the generation and management of complex, bespoke, technical and commercial solutions for high value programs. I have a passionate belief in UK Manufacturing & Engineering capability, the promotion of youth competencies and in promoting Business Ethics and Partnerships between global organisations to generate growth and prepare for new challenges.

During the 3 year tenure as MD, Bystronic UK has been developed into the UK Market leader with record equipment sales and class leading customer service. A highly motivated and engaged workforce operating from a fully refurbished operational facility will deliver a 30% increase in turnover in 2021 for Bystronic UK.

Working closely with the Managing Director and acting as the strategic lead on the UK board to transform all aspects of the UK business. Developed Comau UK into a leading UK company and a Global benchmark for the parent organisation. Revenue was grown from £17m to £120m per annum in this period, while trading profit was increased from breakeven to 15%. In addition to the UK business I have also been responsible for the development of critical accounts on a global basis. In this role I successfully generated a portfolio of €110m in Sweden, Belgium and the USA with ¥550M in China. The UK project portfolio of work in this period exceeds £500m and includes business with most UK automotive OEM’s.
