Owner/Director of a London/Surrey based consultancy that provides advice on security and policing matters, specialising in CT issues, tactical advice/planning, training and research. Part time associate for the London Policing College and recent Masters Degree graduate from UWL. Specialist Training DirectorMetropolitan Police 2012 - Jul 2017Firearms CommandI held responsibility for the MPS specialist firearms training and for the relevant national network, overseeing and allocating a £1m budget. This role included the review of current practice and the design and delivery of the most effective and relevant training for a range of specialist skills to support operational tactics and protocols. As a national specialist firearms training lead, I was responsible for research and updating of weaponry, ensuring compliance and suitability. As a national training lead on coordination and system delivery, and an operational tactical advisor, I worked in close liaison with a range of partners including the National Chiefs Police Council, the IPCC and others, informing on national specialist resolution capabilities to ensure full awareness of available tactics. I undertook an extensive redesign of all specialist firearms courses to ensure full compliance with College of Policing requirement standards on tactical delivery, responding effectively to pressing austerity requirements whilst maintaining exceptional service delivery. -
Command Training DirectorMetropolitan Police 2011 - 2012Firearms CommandI held responsibility for firearms command and management training; devising, updating and delivering national command courses and implementing training plans for significant public events. I redesigned all Firearms Command Courses to ensure compliance with National Policing Improvement Agency requirements, working with key partners to ensure all courses met the highest standards whilst responding to required, demanding, austerity measure budget controls. I developed and implemented the first, now annual, National Command Refresher Training package created to ensure in the region of 800 tactical firearms commanders within the MPS were fully accredited and refreshed. I led on training for many specialist roles including skill development within surveillance settings.

I managed six specialist teams, including resourcing and budget management to support needs across London. I designed and delivered comprehensive presentations to senior ranks; highlighting MPS firearms capabilities and travelled extensively through Europe and the US, lecturing, contributing to specialist joint projects and advising on security issues.
