Contributing to the development of organisational strategy and operational delivery within qualification policy and reform.Leading a multidisciplinary team to implement innovative change within the qualification and assessment system, engaging with senior colleagues in other public bodies, government and education institutions (including further and higher education).Providing senior leadership, including supporting corporate functions such as finance, procurement, human resources and governance to ensure that we meet our responsibilities to government.Implementing qualification and assessment reform within Wales, leading on the reform of Health and Social, and Childcare, and Construction and the Built Environment qualifications.

Establishing a newly created function and team within a newly established organisation – this involved significant change management, planning and implementation activities. More broadly, as a senior leader within the organisation I played a supporting role in the wider establishment of policies, processes, procedures and approaches to working across the organisation, as well as having a significant external stakeholder relations role, establishing comprehensive partnerships with other public bodies and organisations through the development of memorandums of understanding and other formal working agreements. The development, implementation and review of reformed GCSEs and A Levels for Wales. Leading the commissioning and contract management of awarding bodies to develop new national qualifications. Leading on the implementation of the new qualifications and assessments.Supporting the Welsh Government as part of their Curriculum for Wales Reform Programme through membership of the Curriculum and Assessment Expert Group, Manageability Group and Coherence Group.

Leading the development of academic processes and procedures – As the College was newly established I was responsible for creating all of academic processes in preparation for the first, and subsequent inspections by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).Senior leadership across the College, working closely with the College Director and Head of Student Services to ensure the College offered a high-quality service to all stakeholders. Working more broadly across Kaplan International colleges, supporting a variety of teams including marketing, engagement and executive management.As Acting Academic Director and Chair of the Awarding Committee overseeing the delivery of all academic programmes across the College, ensuring high quality teaching and assessment across all subjects (Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Business, Law and English). This included engaging with tutors, assessors, external examiners, senior colleagues within Kaplan International Colleges and the University of West England, and with the Quality Assurance Agency.Representing the College at academic meetings and events and presenting at conferences.Ensuring robust and comprehensive academic and pastoral support was available for all students (international) and engaging with external stakeholders including representatives of cultural attachés and embassies, as well as home office representatives (immigration).

Preparation and teaching of course material at foundation (Level 3), degree year 1 (level 4) and pre-Masters (level 7) in physical and life sciences.

Assisted in laboratory demonstrations for genetics and biochemistry practicals. Laboratory class size: ~100 students.Supported university and Norwich Research Park science outreach activities.

I participated in the Go Wales Summer placement programme at Obsidian Research.
