From December 2014-November 2015 I served with Gold Crew, completing 2 Strategic Deterrent Patrols, 3 Refits, 1 Pre-Deployment Training Period (PDTP), and 1 Strategic Weapons Offload while earning my Submarine Warfare Qualification and gaining in-rate experience as a COMSEC User and Radio Operator. From November 2015-August 2018 I served with "Green Crew" during a maintenance overhaul at NNSY during which time I rode USS West Virginia Blue crew from September-November 2016 completing a Strategic Deterrent Patrol and qualifying QA Craftsman and LAN Technician of the Watch (LTOW). I completed a SOVT for Common Submarine Radio Room Increment 1 Version 3 (CSRR Inc1V3) w/ A2AD. This process included testing of new equipment including NMT SATCOM terminal, SHF, ADNS, NDP, Thin Client, Cryptography, Workstations, and upgraded NAVMACS subsystems. As Repair Parts Petty Officer, I was responsible for ordering, receiving, and inventorying over $500,000 worth of equipment necessary for upgrades. As Work Center Supervisor (WCS) and Quality Assurance (QA) WCS/QA Planner I activated over 24 pieces of communications equipment from layup, completed QA testing/PMS for 2 Communications Buoy Re-Populations, masts/antennas for Sail Re-Population, and implementing PMS for 50 new pieces of radio equipment. From August 2018-May 2020 I served as a member of the Blue Crew during which time I rode USS Maryland Gold crew from August-October 2019 completing a Strategic Deterrent Patrol aiding watchbill flexibility and mentoring 3 junior radioman, receiving a Navy and Marines Corps Achievement Medal for my efforts. Additionally I completed 3 Underways, 2 Strategic Deterrent Patrols, 4 Refit Maintenance Periods, 2 PDTPs, and 1 Strategic Weapons Onload. I qualified Radio Supervisor, KOAM, and 3M Assistant. While serving as NAVOPS Dept. 3MA I oversaw 3 workcenters and created OC03 workcenter as part of the ETR-ITS merger in route to receiving the Battle "E" Award for 2020.
