Transport planning to receive/sort National and International post to 91 local depots, 8 regional sorting centres and 4 airport sites throughout the United kingdom. Working from two Hubs in Coventry that process 270,000 national items and 26,000 international per 24 hour period and 635 Trailer arrivals and departures daily. Controlling over 200 on site Drivers (employed & Agency), 30 Shunters, 10 Yard Marshalls, 12 Vehicle Control System Operators and 3 Admin Staff. To ensure that "O" licence requirements for both Drivers and Vehicles are maintained along with all statutory records, Licences,Tachograph and control of Drivers Hours. Liaising with third party hauliers to ensure delivery to numerous European destinations. All aspects of first line management, promoting good discipline, conduct and safety protocols amongst all Drivers and their Shop Stewards. Conforming to all quality procedures necessary to meet the Companies BS5750, ISO 90000/2 total quality requirements and EF2M accreditations

 Working alongside the World Class Mail champion my key responsibility was for the effective deployment and development of World Class/Continuous Improvement techniques into operational management and frontline members of staff in the model area within the office and then to horizontally expand these systems throughout the sector. Use World Class Mail as a comprehensive system for improving safety, quality, productivity, and reducing non value activity by using tools to stratify the biggest and most impacting issues and losses. Expert on World Class methods in Collections & Delivery, developing the 10 technical pillar leaders, and also driving the 10 management commitment criteria that are crucial to successful implementation of World Class Mail within the pilot site but also across the sector.  Encouraging frontline involvement through Kaizen activities and team meetings. Constantly implementing countermeasures to improve safety, quality, customer service. Create an understanding of a lack of knowledge of managers and front line staff and design training to close gaps using radar packs and knowledge tests. Worked closely with key stake holder s to successfully implement the migration plan of closing the mail centre opening of the country’s 2nd largest delivery office.
