Creative and tenacious investigator, with over 14 years varied policing experience, in supervisory, frontline and specialist investigative roles, with a particular interest in tackling economic crime and corruption. I am a confident decision maker, with a keen eye for detail and significant experience in the analysis and presentation of complex material.My involvement in complex and high-profile investigations has required me to develop the communication skills necessary to brief persons at all levels within the organisation, from strategic command officers to specialist operational teams.After two years away in other roles since promotion to Detective Sergeant, I have now returned to an exciting post within the Economic Crime Unit, where I lead a proactive team of detectives and intelligence staff focused on tackling money laundering. This expands on my prior experience working in Fraud Investigation for several years as a Detective Constable, where I was involved in many interesting reactive and proactive investigations, achieved accreditation as a detective (PIP2), Specialist Fraud Investigator and Financial Intelligence Officer. I was also able to utilise financial analysis skills and business, tax, and accounting knowledge from my time with a Big Four accountancy firm prior to policing.Away from policing, I'm a keen landscape photographer, hiker and sailor. In relation to the latter, I have volunteered with a sail training charity for 20 years, during which time I have introduced a great many young people to the challenging and exciting environment that is offshore sailing. I hold commercially endorsed yachting qualifications and have sailed hundreds of voyages as skipper or mate around the UK and Europe.
