Designed, implemented in C++, documented, and currently support numerous in-house 3-D animation and deformation plugins (~3000 lines) to the 3D graphics package Maya (Autodesk). Introduced the embedding of Qt/C++ and GHC Haskell runtime into Maya at SPI (and wrote the plugins to do so) and championed migration of complex GUI suites from MEL/ELF to Qt/C++ and PyQt. Have done algorithm development in Haskell, rapid prototyping in Python, and deployment in C++. Wrote a working iOS 4 stenographic application with sound and visual feedback and deployed it to my iPhone to demonstrate the feasibility of a mobile interface to Maya.

Designed and coded in C++ a 3D ray tracer and turbulence advection scheme for modeling, animating, and rendering clouds, used in a test sequence for X-Men. Designed and implemented a powerful stack-based domain-specific language for Kodak's premiere 2D graphics library (then available only as a C++ API) that was successfully used by artists for effects not then available in commercial packages. Designed and coded in C++ a match-move survey solver to reconstruct camera position and orientation.

Expanded and validated infrared sensor models using signal processing techniques (matched/Wiener/Kalman filtering, eigensystem/fourier analysis, likelihood) and implemented numerical simulations to validate existing mathematical models and plan for and assess the results of field tests. Studied gravity and internal ocean waves and radiative properties of clouds. Presented results in numerous briefings to clients and (co)authored several peer-reviewed papers on techniques used. Implemented in C++ a novel fingerprint identification algorithm based on variational principles.
