Grid Edge - Artificial Intelligence for Energy SystemsFormed as a spin-out company from Aston University, Grid Edge is a technology start-up company that has developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) software that enables commercial and public building owners to intelligently control and optimise their building’s energy loads and empowers building owners to realise the true value of their on-site energy assets.

A multidisciplinary research role working across the Engineering and Business Schools within Aston University. Specialising in the application of operational research techniques to support decision-making within the biorefinery and bioenergy sectors. In this role i am a co-investigator on multiple UK grants spanning multiple research councils and funding bodies (EPSRC, BBSRC, Innovate UK). The largest of these projects is for developing control algorithms for bio-based localised energy systems and their application to the European’s Bioenergy Research Institute’s multi-million pound multi-functional micro-grid. As part of his wider work with industry, I have supported a large number of companies actively working within the bioenergy sector within the West Midlands.
