Dana Benson is a veteran communications leader with more than 25 years of experience building highly successful public relations programs and teams for top companies and iconic brands at the cross-section of media, technology and entertainment, including Comcast NBCUniversal’s Fandango, Vudu and Rotten Tomatoes, The Walt Disney Company, Microsoft, Mattel, Hasbro, Atari, Activision and more. She was recently named one of the 2022 Top 50 Women Leaders of Los Angeles by Women We Admire, and in 2018 was featured in the National Diversity Council's Top 50 Women in Entertainment. Thriving in fast-paced, hyper-growth environments, she has extensive knowledge, skill and experience in corporate communications, media relations, narrative and message development, product publicity, crisis and issues management, corporate responsibility, internal communications, and diversity, equity and inclusion. She has managed and mentored dozens of internal communications teams and outside agencies.Benson is currently Senior Vice President, Communications & Community Impact, for Comcast NBCUniversal’s Fandango and NBC Sports Next direct-to-consumer, digital portfolios, including popular e-commerce and content publishing platforms Fandango, Vudu, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, SportsEngine and more. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Benson was Director, Public Relations at Disney Interactive where she led corporate communications and publicity efforts for The Walt Disney Company’s Internet businesses including Disney.com, DisneyFamily.com, DisneyBaby.com, Babble and Disney-branded online virtual worlds, mobile games and apps.Benson has held senior public relations positions at top family entertainment and technology companies including Hasbro, Mattel and Broderbund Software, and public relations agencies Edelman, BHI and The Lippin Group. She has launched dozens of campaigns for flagship digital entertainment brands and platforms: Microsoft Xbox, Guitar Hero, Halo, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Barbie and Tonka-branded video games, Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?, and many more. Benson began her career in television, publicizing shows produced by Disney’s Touchstone Television, Paramount Television and NBC Productions.Benson earned a B.S. Business Administration degree with an emphasis in marketing, from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
