Attended weekly networking seminars with policy leaders, networking with these leaders and other CanStudyUS Fellows as youth leaders.April - May 2023: Attended a study week in Washington DC from April 30 to May 8. As a deliverable of the program, fellows were expected to organize a ‘community event,’ which I began federally incorporating Youth IGF Canada as a not for profit and recruited its Board of Directors and committee roles. For Youth IGF Canada during this fellowship, I also established connections with the United Nations, International Telecommunication Union, and Canadian Internet Governance Forum for Canadian youth participation at these organizations’ events/conferences. For this fellowship, presented the results from Youth IGF Canada to the United States Embassy and Consulate in Canada in August 2023.Unpaid fellowship.

Collaborated with professor to write a policy white paper following McMaster University's (Canada) symposium conference titled, 'Canadian Communications and Cultural Policies in the Age of the Platform.' Attended the conference and took detailed notes of presenters' (academics and members of civil society) talks, specifically identifying key policy recommendations. Qualitatively coded these notes using NVivo and drafted a summary sheet of the key themes in Microsoft Excel. Was recognized as a co-author of the white paper, also developing its graphic design using Adobe InDesign. Developed and implemented a methodological framework for gathering qualitative focus group data pertaining to how graduate students learn how to publish their academic work. Gathered contact information of graduate student organizations across campus for recruiting students to the focus groups. Co-ran the virtual focus groups as the technical support (using Zoom) of three student focus groups and three faculty focus groups. Cleaned up AI-generated transcripts of the focus groups (using Rev Transcription Services) and qualitatively coded these transcripts using NVivo. Became a co-author for the article writing the methodology section and aided in revising conference applications of the talking paper. Drafted the technical design and synthesized questions for a survey sent to small wireless internet providers who were part of the Canadian Association of Wireless Internet Service Providers (CanWISP) regarding their business operations in rural Canada. Developed a target plan to find small wireless providers (using LinkedIn) to request interviews for the professor. Transcribed interview recordings conducted by the professor and performed additional ad hoc duties. Collaborated on a research team which investigated high quality broadband resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic. Conducted interviews with key stakeholders in Calgary's (Canada) fibre broadband network, gathered case studies comparing Canadian cities' broadband resiliency during the pandemic, and coded interview transcripts for key themes using NVivo. Became a co-author on the peer reviewed article stemming from this research which was published in the Journal of Digital Media and Policy.

Drafted and executed an email campaign requesting interest of the target list collaborating in projects and knowledge sharing with the professor in the future. Drafted a list of journals for the professor's future scholarly articles to be submitted to.
