Verified System Alignment should produce less expenditure of ordnance per target, meaning more targets can be prosecuted with the ordnance available, thereby improving the defense of the battle group and its primary asset. It is like giving a ship's Weapon System a sniper's sighting in. One shot, one target down; but now in 3D parallel on a multitude of targets.Responsible for Alignment & Alignment Verification of weapon systems on AEGIS & LCS platforms. Systems included AN/SPY-1, MK 82 FCS, 5" Gun, Bofors, Phalanx CIWS, GoalKeeper CIWS, multiple Optical Sight Systems, AN/SLQ-32 and Sonar.Worked on US, Japan, Spain, Norway, Republic of Korea, and Australia AEGIS Baselines and ships and land facilities (including AEGIS Ashore). My team provides on-ship/site technical services to assist in performing non-destructive Alignment Verification testing against live air or surface targets. If this testing identifies an issue, the team participates in performing diagnostics to resolve the issue. Commonly the issues can be physical alignment or internal Combat System related. My team is therefore a multidisciplinary one, experienced in the details of the integrated Combat System, including the computer programs and a 30+ year corporate history of causes and effects. This successful testing expertise has been extended to LCS and HCM (Canada).I and my team also collaborate with construction shipyards and the Surface Combatant Alignment ISEA (NSWC PHD) in developing and maintaining alignment procedures. We have collaboratively gone through a significant technology and process upgrade starting from 2008 through 2014 with oversight from PEO IWS 1SI4, but there are still going to be ongoing efforts at continuous improvements, as technology also marches on.

Developed concept to remove very large coils for magnetic compensation on ship and replace them with very small coils, which can save electric power and reduce magnetic field strength inside the ship.Developed concept to join ships at sea to enable direct movement of personnel and material between platforms. Lead for writing Technical Proposal of multi-organization 1st phase HiCASS effort. Lone LM contributor. Subsequent HiCASS Technical Director Phase 1. Responsible for compiling, writing and issuing Technical report for Phase 1 completion. Assisted in project management and drafted CONOPS.

Developed team expertise in the exacting use of Leica Laser Tracker & Laser Station in parallel with Spatial Analyzer (SA) applications. This included developing time saving enhancements to taking measurements. Also developing other laser and inclination applications, in addition to new applications for DGPS.

Prepared technical information for a Pre-Qualification Questionaire for a structural monitoring research (for surface vehicle, aircraft, and ship structures) for a UK Ministry of Defence programme using material from LM (NE&SS & AS), Aeptec Microsystems, Tetra Tech Data Systems, Barron Associates, NSWC Carderock, SMX (now Faro), and DRS Technologies. Our package was unsuccessful in the review as it was deemed too practical and not more pure research. Our package jumped to prototyping integrated systems to actually monitor the different target structures.
