Embrace adversity. Often, the most trying experiences in life are the ones which teach us the most useful lessons. How we face these challenges, and whether we should choose to accept them, greatly defines our characters. I take pride in my willingness to accept and overcome adversity. I hope to carry my ability to succeed in difficult situations into the business world, excelling in whatever challenges may arise in my career. I am a motivated student pursuing a degree in Tourism, Hospitality, and Event Management in the Indiana University School of Public Health. Being in this program has helped me explore my interests in planning and travel. I enjoy problem solving and have great success collaborating with others on projects. My past experiences have taught me much about responsibility and patience. I have worked actively as a nanny and babysitter from the age of 12. I also volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club of America, acting as a tutor for the kids at the club. For the last two years, I have been a server at a local restaurant near my home. Working with children and serving people for 7 years has taught me compassion, responsibility, and a great deal of patience. I believe that these skills will help me in my career to be prompt with my work and accel in group work with my coworkers.
