Collaborate with senior executives, colleagues, academics, and technologists, to identify and discuss trends, challenges, and opportunities in technology and innovation in government.

Developed the All Hazards Emergency Operations Response Plan for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program. Conducted a baseline survey, which received a 100% response rate, of all local WIC agencies to facilitate our emergency planning process. Developed statewide policies for the WIC program regarding emergency response and support of local WIC agencies. Conducted a needs and assets assessment to develop a template to aid the local WIC agencies in developing their emergency plans an ensure consistent emergency plans at the local level statewide. Developed the Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health /Office of Family Planning and Genetic Disease Screening Program/Genetic Disease Lab Emergency Operations Response Plans. Conducted table tops and focus groups with program directors to facilitate plan development. Conducted gap analyses to aid in plan development. Assisted in updating department emergency response plan templates.

Developed a strategic branding and marketing plan to recommend how Medi-Cal, Health Families, and the Health Benefits Exchange should be marketed to California's uninsured population as part of implementation of the Affordable Care Act.

Developed, maintained and evaluated the effectiveness of the Mass Prophylaxis and Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) plans and programs for San Francisco. Managed the Cities Readiness Initiative grant and budget, including the development and analysis of the scope of work. Developed and analyzed a public health preparedness community needs survey and implemented the resulting materials and online curriculum. Managed the NACCHO Innovative Practices in Public Health Preparedness grant, budget and staff. Responded to a measles outbreak in Feb 2009, the Spring 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu outbreak and the Fall 2009 Mass Vaccination campaign for H1N1 Swine. Submitted bi-annual program reports to the California Department of Public Health. Evaluated and facilitated local and regional public health preparedness exercises. Represented the San Francisco Department of Public Health on national workgroups focused on preparedness program and policy development and analysis. Collaborated with community based organizations, academic institutions, large employers and federal partners for mass dispensing planning. Facilitated interagency and regional emergency planning groups. Negotiated inter and intra agency contracts. Worked with the California Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on annual mass prophylaxis program audits. Improved San Francisco's Readiness score by 28% over two years (68% to 96%).

Managed the Cities Readiness Initiative grant and budget including the development and analysis of the scope of work. Developed and implemented manuals to enhance mass dispensing strategies, including working with large employers and academic institutions. Facilitated interagency disaster planning groups. Negotiated and developed inter/intra agency contracts. Conducted trainings for mass dispensing, working with special populations and use of a web based alerting system. Represented the Yolo County Health Department on national workgroups focused on preparedness program and policy development and analysis. Produced user manuals for our interagency health alert network. Assisted in the development of our county Risk Communications and Strategic National Stockpile plans. Aided in the supervision of our interns. Evaluated and coordinated large scale, interagency public health exercises including volunteer recruitment. Worked with the California Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on annual mass prophylaxis program audits. Assumed responsibility of increasing enrollment in the California Health Alert Network with 90% return rate in client proficiency and comprehension of the system.

While working at the Yolo County Health Department I was appointed as the first California Region IV Health Alert Network Coordinator. In this role I was responsible for conducting regional trainings for 11 counties as well as maintaining enrollment and offering troubleshooting and system support for the state run web based alerting and document storage system.

Aided in the facilitation of the organization and updating of London's TB care and prevention programs. Conducted and analyzed surveys of local health clinics and hospitals resulting in a 95% survey return rate. Evaluated and interpreted survey data. Developed a mapping system to determine availability of clinics and services for TB care based on client locale and service area need. Presented findings of data to government officials and hospital administrators and made recommendations for implementing survey data to ensure that patients stayed on their Direct Observation Therapy to reduce prevalence of active TB and incidence of Multi-Drug Resistant TB in all five health sectors of London

Conducted and analyzed surveys to assist in writing a more comprehensive online curriculum for Research Methods in Psychology. Graded exams and experiments. Handled all administrative work including submitting grades and confidential information to the psychology advising office. Facilitated review sessions and office hours for students. Developed a comprehensive study guide for students.

Assisted in the supervision of a pilot study to aid in development of safer toys for children and prevent disease transmission via plastic toys, suffocation via plastic bags and drowning in large industrial plastic wares. Developed a survey for determining behavioral patterns that would be tracked for the pilot study. Conducted observations and analysis of data for the pilot study.
