Professional Profile: Fifth generation Oklahoman who has lived and worked in both rural and urban areas of the state. Holds a bachelor's degree in geology from Oklahoma State University and a law degree cum laude from Oklahoma City University. Remains active in the family farm and ranch in western Oklahoma. Work Experience: I currently serve as an Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner, where I was first elected in 2008, then 2010 and was re-elected to a third and final term in 2016. Prior to time in public office, I owned and operated a private law firm focused on oil and gas title and regulatory practice, and previously served as an administrative law judge for the Commission. I've also spent more than two decades of in the petroleum industry as a geologist and attorney. Memberships include: Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) Advisory Council, the Regional State Committee of the Southwest Power Pool, Oklahoma Bar Association and the Financial Research Institute advisory board. Service positions include: Oklahoma Water Resources Research Institute's Advisory Board, the Salvation Army’s Central Oklahoma Area Command Advisory Board, and the Board of Trustees for Church of the Servant Methodist Church. Awards and Recognition: 2007 Outstanding Woman in Energy by Energy Advocates, and 2013 and 2017 Finalist for the Journal Record's Woman of the Year Award.
