Energy comes from experiencing new things, traveling to new places, meeting new people, and learning more about the world around us. By participating in various organizations and programs that combine my love of art, science, history and literature, I have discovered my passion for bridging cultures together to create understanding and compassion. Within my profession, I help connect stories to the world and assist in developing creative avenues to build confidence, power and voice in teens. I am well-versed in the creation and implementation of public relations initiatives, nonprofit program management, and website maintenance. At Wayne State University, I have focused my research on advocating for victims in the context of human rights violations. In my free time, I have helped further research on various archaeological projects in Central America, educated young enthusiasts on the preservation of bats, and assist with theatre and performance production locally. The last three years of my life have been an exploration, and I’m sure the next three will be just the same. My success doesn’t depend on one thing in particular - it depends on the sum of millions of small things. I know that with my passion to continue learning I hope to continue my involvement in sharing stories as a tool for peace-building and to inspire those around me to participate, advocate, and experience new ways that deepen our understanding of ourselves and broaden and strengthen local communities.
