Unemployment Insurance claim specialist

• Answers calls on a multi-telephone system, schedules patient appointments, and directs calls to appropriate recipients when necessary. Able to use overhead paging system and/or call transfer option. • Understand varying scheduling templates of individual providers • Able to coordinate and/or adjust appointments with nursing staff and providers when necessary. • Provides back-up support to reception as needed. • Responds to inquiries by patients, prospective patients, and visitors in a courteous manner -Protects patient confidentiality, making sure protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended. • Verifies eligibility of insurance coverage prior to patient visit as needed • Collaborates with department staff and providers to ensure all necessary equipment, supply requirements and/or vendors are requested and present at the time of surgery • Enters patient information into EPIC data-base. • Provides instructions and other related information, as needed to patients. • Scheduled surgeries for multiple surgeons and booked operating rooms.
