After obtaining my Masters in Chemistry at Leiden University, I continued with as PhD candidate in the research group. My project focusses on the investigation of the influence of heterogenizing molecular catalysts for electrochemical conversions in metal-organic frameworks. For this research, I use electrochemical and surface-science techniques to investigate and characterize the system. During the PhD research I have gained experience as a chemical researcher, as a supervisor, and as an organizer of a project.

Metals In Catalysis Biomimetics & Inorganic Materials

During my internship, I synthesised, characterized and electrochemically tested two copper-based catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction. During this internship I learned how to synthesize coordination compounds in an inert environment and characterize ligands and metal-complexes. Additionally, I investigated the complexes with electrochemical methods. The master thesis was awarded with a 9.0. During my studies I was employed at Hoogvliet BV as Assistant Head Cashier. During this job my activities were, but not limited to: taking care of the day-to-day business of the department, leading a team of cashiers, interacting with customers and handling of the daily vault. This job has taught me several key skills, such as leadership, interaction, communication, problem-solving, customer service and adaptibilty.
