I motivate them to do amazing work, to empathize with our customers, and to always be growing in their careers. I celebrate their successes, and mentor them when I see room for improvement. We may have different focus areas and a different vocabulary, but we’re all reaching for that same goal. And we’re going to get there together.👩🏻‍💻I led the creation and launch of Grindr’s web-based application, from the initial “hey, we should build a web app” to a celebrated launch. I assembled a team, designed the initial product roadmap, collaborated closely with my amazing Product Manager partner once she came on board, consistently kept leadership informed about our progress, and I even contributed to the code powering a couple features.🐶My team delivered Partial Autoship, Chewy’s first customer-facing Autoship improvement in ten years. This feature brought together front-end and back-end engineers and cross-functional partners across the entire organization. We worked with micro front-ends, microservices, and a legacy monolith. And at the end of the day, we made it easier for people to keep their pets happy and healthy.🌎I’ve led remote engineering teams since 2013. I was lucky to work for a remote work pioneer who saw the value of a distributed workforce and taught me how to build a thriving culture when we’re miles apart.🏅I was honored with Untapped’s “Walk the Walk” award for DEIB leaders in 2022, recognizing my commitment to unbiased engineer hiring practices as well as my direct, strategic outreach to candidates Skilled Through Alternate Routes (STARs) and from diverse communities.💼I’m a Certified Interviewer via Hire Authority. Early in my leadership career, I realized that software engineer hiring was broken across our industry because hiring managers were usually trained engineers, but not trained interviewers. I’m dedicated to making hiring processes less burdensome for candidates and interviewers alike.🌟I have a Scrum Master Accredited Certification and a devotion to “being agile about Agile”, employing the right methodology to keep a team collaborating smoothly with as little overhead as possible.
