I am again active with the Public Space Research Group to take our message of inclusion and diversity, through field research and observation, to managers and stakeholders of parks, beaches, and other varieties of public space. I am now finishing an ethnographic study of the Staten Island portion of Gateway National Recreation Area, a book chapter on historic preservation issues from users' perspectives at Jones Beach State Park, and embarking with Suzanne Scheld of California State University, Northridge, and Setha Low of CUNY on a book about beaches as a threatened commons.
