Most recently I was CCO at Headspace (and formerly Ginger) and oversaw a team of nearly 600 (Coaching, Therapy, Psychiatry, QA & training, and care enablement). During my tenure I grew the team 20x; consistently met staff retention targets despite significant organizational change; helped close some of the company's largest commercial deals; supported expansion with payors; launched Ginger/Headspace's first in class training programs (practicum, post-doctoral fellowship, NBHWC behavioral health coach program); met quality targets QoQ. I regularly spoke at top tier conferences (e.g., HLTH; Business Group on Health) and served as the executive sponsor for the Black Collective ERG. I was previously the Clinical Specialty Services Lead at the University of Colorado, and oversaw the Alcohol and Other Drug, Behavioral Health, Assessment, Transgender Care, and Eating Disorder Services programs. Much of this work involved identifying strategies to manage volume, meet clinical need, and better integrate two operating units at the University post-merger. Over the course of my career I've worked in a range of settings, including various universities; inpatient, residential, IOP sites; and a private practice I maintained for nearly a decade. Specialty areas include stress management, perfectionism, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, identity development and body image in LGBTQ youth, and adolescent/young adult development. In addition to providing extensive training about these specialty areas to parents, educators, employee groups, and other mental health professionals, I've written about them in peer-reviewed and popular publications, and shared my expertise with news outlets including the LA Times, USA Today, Fast Company, Self Magazine, InStyle, Authority Magazine, Time and This Week in Health IT.
