Led national efforts focused on Kaiser Permanente’s response to COVID-19 and continued accountability over Northern California Region’s assessment, planning, and evaluation strategy.• Served as part of the COVID Equity Workgroup, providing data and analytics to inform an investment strategy that ensures efforts are focused on communities facing the most significant disparities in vaccine access• Served as part of a multi-disciplinary team under the Chief Health Officer and led various COVID response efforts, including design, implementation, oversight and evaluation of a $38M contact tracing initiative• Regional lead for the 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and planning process that drove strategic community health investments for Kaiser Permanente Northern California’s twenty-one (21) hospital service areas• Partnered with the grant operations team to design the grants management platform infrastructure to capture data for evaluation, accountability, and communication purposes• Worked with project teams to identify and track via dashboard our key performance metrics for senior leadership

Led the design and implementation of large strategic projects, including KFH’s innovative approach to tri-annual CHNA and the development of a department-wide strategic planning process.• Developed a rigorous interpretation of federal IRS guidelines that ensures Kaiser Permanente leads the field in assessing and responding to community health needs• Created tools and resources, including strategic frameworks and data collection and analysis tools, to support CHNA implementation• Worked with a multi-disciplinary team to develop and refine a Kaiser Permanente CHNA Data Platform, which serves as a critical tool for the secondary data sharing and analysis required for CHNA• Led a team of consultants to ensure proper compliance with CHNA requirements• Developed and led a department-wide strategic planning process across multiple teams that considered all assets of the organization and guided over $20 million of Community Benefit investments

Managed a five-year, $1.5 million Healthy Eating Active Living – Community Health Initiative (HEAL-CHI) grant, Kaiser Permanente’s innovative approach to community-based obesity prevention.Selected accomplishments: Led a group of stakeholders, through collaboration and influence, in the design and implementation of a grant program focused on creating meaningful environmental and policy changes to support healthy lifestyles Worked with a subcontracted evaluation team to develop an evaluation plan, tools, and metrics to capture the effectiveness of the grant initiative Developed a technical assistance plan and led a team of providers to support the successful implementation of grant objectives Provided grants management including proposal review and recommendation, budget oversight and approval, and progress tracking Developed new grantmaking initiatives in response to the economic downturn in 2010 including data analysis to inform program design

Designed, coordinated, and implemented a technical assistance strategy ensuring Healthy Eating Active Living grantees had access to the tools and information they needed to implement effective community-based obesity prevention efforts.Selected accomplishments:  Assisted in coordinating, developing, and implementing technical assistance on weight management strategies to Kaiser Permanente’s various community partners Served as community liaison between Regional Health Education’s pediatric weight management team and community-based organizations Served on the health care sector technical assistance team for The California Endowment’s Healthy Eating Active Communities initiative, facilitating the sharing of Kaiser Permanente assets and resources to support community-based obesity prevention efforts

Provided health education counseling, tailored to pediatric patients and their families, to empower them to meet their individual health goals.Selected accomplishments: Provided individual and group health education counseling that focused primarily on weight management but also included sexual health, smoking cessation, stress reduction and asthma education Collaborated with the Pediatric Endocrinologist, Registered Dietician and other clinicians to create and implement the Passport Clinic, a multi-disciplinary clinic that provided medical monitoring, goal-setting, and follow-up for overweight children with co-morbid conditions Implemented Teen Choices and Challenges pilot program by identifying interested physicians, collaborating with the Project Manager at Regional Health Education, developing resource lists for the Web page, monitoring teen participation, and following up with teens that were flagged for risky behavior Certified through Regional Health Education in brief negotiation, HIV/STD counseling skills, smoking cessation counseling, teen pregnancy test counseling, and as a Pediatric Chlamydia Staff Champion
