Serving as the firm's leader of its quality assurance program and as the firm's lead architect for its nation-wide construction administration services. As the quality assurance program leader, my responsibilities include ensuring all design projects follow the firm's quality assurance program procedures, providing quality assurance reviews of all projects at their major design progress and final Issue for Bid submittals, serving as technical advisor for architectural construction drawing detailing and specifications preparation, and serving as a sponsor for the Intern Development Program for the architecture staff interns.As the firm's lead architect for its construction administration services, my responsibilities include working with multiple client stakeholders to assure construction phase efficacy, working with contractors to ensure team approaches on construction projects, coordinating the work of the firm's construction administrators, and providing technical guidance to project lead architects and engineers on addressing contractor requests for information and submittals.I also serve as the construction lead architect on specific projects as assigned. As construction lead architect, my project focus is Veterans Administration Patient Acute Care Treatment (PACT) clinics, psychiatric facilities, and Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) program projects. I also enjoy my role within the firm as its lead specification writer.

Served as the head of one of three corporate architecture studios. My studio's focus was on large scale building renovation projects for the Veterans Administration. These included projects across the midwest and in California. My responsibilities included working with multiple client stakeholders, coordinating the work of MEP and structural engineers, life safety assessment, design and development of highly detailed technical construction drawings, construction administration, and management of studio staff members.

Served as a project manager on design services and construction programs for a variety of regional and nationwide retail clients. Assigned to multiple design and construction projects across the east coast and midwest of the United States. My projects ranged from approximately 2,000 SF complete interior tenant remodels to approximately 100,000 SF ground up retail store constructions.Responsibilities included construction phasing planning, development of store brand design features to be site-specific, code analysis, preparation of detailed construction documents and construction administration.Specialty aspects of my services included working with multiple client stakeholders and engineering sub-consultants, life safety assessment and design and development of highly detailed technical construction drawings.

As a Vice President with the firm, I served as the Architect of Record for the firm's design practice. In this capacity, I was responsible for ensuring that all permit drawings issued met compliance with applicable codes, as well as, advised staff on up-to-date code compliance matters. Ultimately, I was responsible for certifying and signing all permit drawings issued.My day-to-day responsibilities included serving as a project manager on individual design projects. I was responsible for carrying these projects from initial on-site conditions assessment through design and preparation of permit drawings. My assignments were either team-based or handled solely. Client types were primarily small commercial and medical tenant build-outs in multi-tenant buildings.

Construction budgets ranged from $500k to $1.8 million.Responsibilities included providing entitlement services, building and site design, code analysis, preparation of construction documents, permitting and construction administration through project closeout.Specialty aspects of my services included working with multiple private and public stakeholders, ADA compliance assessment and design, historic restoration, adaptive reuse and custom finishes design.

Taught classes ranging from Special Education to English to AP Chemistry. Served as a teacher at each of the District's five high schools, including Hoffman Estates, Schaumburg, Conant, Fremd and Palatine.

My client type experience was primarily public sector. Project type experience included toll plazas and oases, vehicle maintenance facilities, law enforcement and emergency management facilities, new depots and platform upgrades for Metra and the CTA, and a fallen officers' memorial for the Illinois State Police. Public sector construction budgets ranged from approximately $1 million to $11 million.Private sector experience included planning a senior living Planned Unit Development, including the design of duplexes, quadplexes, assisted living apartments, nursing care and retail, for a private developer. To be located in Paddock Lake, Wisconsin, the construction budget is approximately $36 million.Employment Highlights:Eight years as the lead design architect (2000 to 2008.)Promoted to Manager in 2008 and served in the position of Senior Architect from 2009 to 2012.Lead design architect and Architect of Record for the toll plaza prototype control building, overhead walkway and annex building utilized as part of the $5.3 billion Open Road Tolling revitalization program for the Illinois Tollway.Lead designer and project architect for the Chicago Marine Safety Station which is the Association of Licensed Architects 2007 Silver Award Winner, Renovation Category.
