I’ll admit it, I have a passion for helping others to learn. Early in my career I was hand-picked to move into education and I’ve been there ever since. I found my strength and voice in helping others to learn. Over the years I have helped to train more than 100,000 healthcare professionals and given well over 300 presentations to more than 50,000 people internationally, both in-person and virtually. I am a well-respected trainer and the author of many training programs, several video programs and medical textbooks, such as The Clinical Medical Assistant.My philosophy is that learning should be fun and engaging. For this reason I believe in problem-based learning and provide a learner-centered classroom experience. There is no better feeling than to hear that how you teach is why someone is able to learn. I too am always learning. Each time I provide, training I am eager for student feedback as well as my own evaluation of my lesson plan and what I might do differently the next time I offer the training. In everyday life, I am a collector of information that can be used to create a game or other fun activity for my training programs.Over time I have taught a variety of subjects, including healthcare professions, computer software, sales techniques, management and leadership, communication and problem solving, lean sigma and even landscaping, to name a few. I believe I am able to take my knowledge of learning and apply it to any type of training, with the right preparation.
