CurrentMember of Surgical Physician Assistant team that works in conjunction with attending surgeons to manage inpatient services as well as coverage of the Winchester Hospital OR -Robotics Program: Duties include port placement, bedside assistance with instrument exchange and necessary troubleshooting as well as port closure. Ensure proper instrumentation ready for cases in coordination with OR staff. Assist surgical tech with preparation of implants and other necessary equipment.-General: Hernias including both rTAPP and eTEP approaches Cholecystectomy; appendectomy; component separation-Colorectal: right hemicolectomy, sigmoid colectomy including primary anastomoses and Hartmann’s procedures-Bariatric: sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass-Gynecologic: total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, omentectomy, myomectomy-Orthopedic Surgery: Total joint arthroplasties; sports medicine; trauma; and spine including laminectomy, discectomy, anterior cervical fusion-General Surgery: Laparoscopic appendectomy and cholecystectomy; xploratory laparotomy; mastectomy, and needle loc biopsies-Gynecology: Laparoscopic total hysterectomy, bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, omentectomy, myomectomy, anterior and posterior vaginal wall repair, transobturator tape (TOT) sling -ENT: Thyroidectomy, parathyroidectomy, tracheostomy-Coverage of inpatient rounding, consults, and admission of general,vascular, and thoracic patients including medicine reconciliation, ordering and interpreting labs and imaging, and discharge planning-Management of pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care of patients within surgical specialties as well as conservative medical management for various non-operative diagnoses-Wound care-I&D, wound vac, dressing changes, nasogastric tube placement, chest tube management -Brief coverage of Urology inpatient service and consultations-Participates in education of surgical residents, medical students, and Physician Assistant students
