The District owns Desert Regional Medical Center and two surrounding medical office plazas. The District provides grant funding to healthcare oriented programs to non-profit organizations with in the District boundaries. The Foundation provides grant and program funding and facilitation of healthcare oriented programs throughout the Coachella Valley. Duties include general ledger maintenance and monthly financial statement preparation for both organizations. Managing payroll, accounts payable, and human resources. Preparing annual budgets and facilitating the annual audits for both organizations, in addition to a 250 member Retirement Protection Plan. Managing the maintenance of a 33 suite medical plaza, along with the tenant leasing and tenant relations. Responsible to the CEO and Board of Directors. I served as the Desert Healthcare District's interim CEO (June 2018 - July 2019 & June 2016 - December 2016). In partnership with the Board of Directors, provided leadership and guidance in order to achieve the agency’s mission, strategy, and annual goals and objectives. Was instrumental, in conjunction with the Board of Directors, in successfully recruiting the new CEO for the District/Foundation; and engaging with Staff, Consultants, and others to conduct and complete voter surveys, market analysis and needs assessments, and LAFCO application for the District's annexation for future strategic planning for the District/Foundation. Instrumental in the District moving from At Large elections to Zone Based elections.
