Manage the strategy and execution of the Town of Hartford's Climate Action Plan. Hartford adopted it's aspirational Climate Action Plan in September of 2021 with the goal of greatly reducing municipal and community green house gas footprint and preparing the Town for a changing climate by 2030.• Work with each of the Town's departments to identify and implement green house gas and energy reducing measures that have minimal impact on department operations. This includes choosing more efficient mechanical equipment, installing idle mitigation technology in emergency vehicles, and improving the energy efficiency of Town facilities. • Collaborate with University of New Hampshire's Carbon Clinic to track municipal GHG emissions in SIMAP and create a data visualization platform to help town staff and residents understand where municipal emissions are coming from and what can be done to reduce them. • Work Planning and Development and the Zoning Administrator to encourage local builders to adhere to the State of Vermont's Residential Building Code. I also work with them on applications for large scale solar projects in Hartford. • Work with the Hartford Energy Commission and Climate Action Steering Team on climate issues, projects, and community engagement. • Manage Town Hall facility and HVAC maintenance and repair as well as assist department heads with their facilities. • Manage PV contracts and invoices for the Town's four leased systems.

Massachusettes

Provided technical assistance on energy code and building performance to builders, architects, and developers that need to navigate Massachusetts building code or are looking to lower the carbon footprint of their homes. • Performed site inspections throughout the construction process to ensure framing, insulation & air sealing, and HVAC systems meet energy code requirements.• Tested HVAC, ventilation, and whole house leakage to verify they meet code requirements. • Provided technical assistance and training to builders, insulation crews, and HVAC installers on current energy codes, best practices and low cost options to improve efficiency.

Medford, Ma

Performed Mass Save home energy audits and made recommendations to home owners on how they could utilize program incentives to lower their energy bills and carbon footprint. • Provided energy focused home inspections to identify areas for improvement.• Educated home owners on rebates and incentives offered by the Mass Save program.• Developed a work scope for improvements that would lower residential energy use and household carbon footprint.

Greater Boston Area

Provided administrative support and leadership to a small nonprofit organization supporting an all-girls school in Afghanistan. • Worked closely with Afghan School Principal, Foundation Executive Director, and senior staff to support the work being done at the education center while the Foundation transitioned from a start up to a formal nonprofit. • Developed reports that provided the Foundation, Board, and funders with key details regarding operations at the Education Center, including student passing rates, the growth of enrollment at the school, and student demographics to help with managing and planning the school. • Worked with organization’s founder and finance manager to develop annual budgets for the Education Center and forthcoming post-secondary vocational school for Education Center graduates.

Cambridge, Ma

Center provides GED & literacy classes to adults that live in the City of Cambridge. Primary responsibility was teaching adult GED & Pre-GED classes that were primarily comprised of older students, most of whom were immigrants trying to obtain a GED diploma.Key Contributions:• Approximately 80% of GED class participants passed the exam by the end of the year.• Approximately 10% of Pre-GED class participants passed the exam and 80% moved up to the GED class by the end of the year.

Manhattan, Ny

Organization provided economically and educationally disadvantaged young adults in New York City a chance to attain the skills needed to achieve financial independence through academic and occupational training, counseling, and job placement. Primary responsibilities were teaching GED classes, vocational training classes in customer service and energy efficiency, and soft skills classes as well as providing job placement services for students in some training programs. Key Contributions:• Developed one of New York City’s first “green” energy efficiency training program in collaboration with Solar 1; this program prepared students to perform air sealing and insulation work in homes and business.• Worked with development director to secure funding for energy efficiency program, including a $250,000 Department of Labor grant.• Designed a parenting class for organization’s young mothers; recruited and supervised volunteers that taught this class. • Worked with an outside organization to provide all students with a 10 week financial literacy class. • Built strong relationships with Workforce One Career Centers in all five city boroughs, NYC Probation, Job Corps, Youth Builds, and several NYC schools.

Santa Cruz, Ca

Restorative justice program that provided services to young adults involved in the juvenile court system in Santa Cruz County, CA. Primary responsibilities were working with juvenile offenders and numerous County, City, and nonprofit organizations to provide work projects for young adults doing community service in lieu of incarceration. Key Contributions:• Provided work projects as an alternative to incarceration for over one hundred juveniles.• Worked with Santa Cruz County Probation, multiple public works departments, and local nonprofits to develop environmental restoration, basic maintenance, and community based work projects.• Supervised and worked alongside an assistant supervisor and 6-10 youth to complete work projects, most of which were manual labor type jobs. • Provided safety training to new employees.• In five years as a crew supervisor, responsible for clean accident record regarding crew/juvenile injuries.
