The company undertook contracts across a wide range of sectors, including Education, Health, Industrial, Retail, Property Management, Defence, Insurance Re-instatement.Contract values ranged from £500 to £250,000 and were a mixture of maintenance, alteration, refurbishment, extension and new build.Formed in Garstang, Lancashire in 1979 by Manus and Winifride Adamson, the Company provided customers with not just a high quality end product, but also unequalled service. As Finance Director, I re-wrote the procedures for the Finance Department, including month end and key control procedures.I led a team in implementing a new software solution, Pegasus Opera, and also the construction-specific Pegasus CIS later on to efficiently manage new HMRC rules on subcontractor management.I developed KPI's and turned the Management Information Packs into a clear concise and understandable commentary which interpreted the numbers and aided the Board in decision making. I was chief liaison with auditors, bankers and statutory bodies such as HMRC, and was successfully responsible for the management of cash flows, and the improvement of debtor days.I set up dynamic information flows for both ongoing and completed contracts, allowing accurate assessment of Work In Progress and thorough review of completed jobs.

The Fylde Coast Association is a local branch of the National Federation of Builders.It exists to represent the views of employers, and to liaise with all industry stakeholders, including employees, unions and government to improve the efficiency, safety and image of one of the largest industries - and greatest contributors to GDP - in the UK.As local President, I chaired meetings of the Fylde Coast group and attended Regional Executive meetings where local views could be presented to others, including National Policy advisors, and our Chief Executive.
