I have worked in the Marketing department at Candlewick Press for 8 years now. First in the publicity department and then in school and library marketing. I have been in my new role of School and Library Marketing Associate for over 2 years now in which I work on social media, planning and attending conferences, writing copy for e-newsletters, and more. I graduated from Northern Arizona University in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. I then attended the University of Denver Publishing Institute where I gained invaluable knowledge of the publishing industry. During my time at NAU I also fostered my interests in literature and linguistics, earning myself two certificates in these areas. I first worked in the marketing department at Candlewick Press in 2011 when I interned from June to July. I received NAU Honors credit for the internship after writing a research paper on the positive and negative effects of digital publishing with an emphasis on children’s books. Prior to that, in Spring 2011 I wrote a research paper entitled “Electronic Books of the Future” detailing the pros and cons of the technology of electronic book readers.
