As the Director of Administration for the City of Auburn, I oversee the divisions that report out of the office of the mayor. My role as a director includes leading the day-to-day operations of the department which in my time has included the divisions of communications, multimedia, emergency management, economic development, human services and facilities; as well as overseeing a contracted community health consultant and legislative and government affairs. I have more than eight years of experience in this role, and more than 17 years of experience in public affairs and government relations for the City of Auburn. My role supports the mayor and the city council in public affairs, intergovernmental activities, and regional committees. I have a strong background in multimedia, graphic arts, social networking, and digital communications. In 2006, I was responsible for formalizing the communications and public relations functions for the City of Auburn and I have successfully managed the city's website, television channel, radio station, and printed materials. In addition, I helped shepherd the organization into new media and digital media platforms. In these past functions and my current role I strive to enhance the city's image, reputation, and engagement with the public.
