I'm currently an Interior Designer at Ethan Allen in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have 20+ years of experience in the home furnishing industry and nearly 10 years owning my own business. I am passionate about all things furniture, fabric and decor! I also have strong communication skills which have allowed me to maintain many professional relationships throughout my career. I discovered a love of retail sales when I got my first job at Stone & Thomas in Wheeling, WV. Being a large department store at the time, there were so many departments where I learned the fine art of selling and customer service. I then went on to graduate from West Virginia University with a degree in Interior Design and after taking time to raise my family, I returned to retail, working in home furnishings. My main area of focus is residential design. The relationship between client and designer can be highly personal. As an Interior Designer, I am able to help navigate the client through the many decisions that need to be made resulting in a space that works for the people living there and creating a space that looks collected over time. After running my own design and retail business for nearly 10 years, I learned the importance of systems and processes and how they can keep a project moving forward. As an Interior Designer, I have an organized process of working through a project from the initial discovery phone call and the in-home consultation, where important information is gathered, such as understanding client visions and goals for the space; to presenting the client with a floor plan and selections of furniture and fabrics. Communication is a vital part of my design process as I like to keep my clients informed of updates to keep the project moving forward.
