I have 39 years of business management experience. The majority of my career has been spent in the garage door industry (1978-2011). During that time my company, Apple Door Systems, grew to the largest garage door dealer in Virginia with sales of $11 million. The company added dealerships in eight different markets throughout Virginia. My new company, The Apple Group, LLC, is a consulting company that serves the door industry. I also served as a co-founder and the first president of The Institute for Door Dealer Education and Accreditation (IDEA). During that time I co-authored curriculum and text books which created the first national accreditation program for garage door dealers on a national level. During my tenure we created education offerings at national and regional trade shows that afforded garage door dealers with the most comprehensive training ever produced in the industry.
