Formally trained with a degree in Criminal Justice and holds multiple certificates in Computer Science as well as multiple certifications in the fire service such as Firefighter I & II. My grant research and writing experience are supported by an extensive career in the high-tech industry, I have found great success in project management, customer service, and large account management. Combined with my fire experience and advanced computer skills, I have obtained the skill set to develop rapport with people as well as the ability to observe and recall details for reporting needs. This diverse skill set has enabled me to be successful in my writing career. Having been required to write technical manuals, sales briefs, incident reports, logs, and presentations, I have developed a clear and concise style of writing that is comfortable to read by a broad range of audiences. My research skills have also proved invaluable in not only in my technology and fire career but in the development of narratives for a variety of grant applications for State, Federal, and Corporate programs.In recent years, I have been called upon to research, draft, submit and manage grants due based on my professional research and writing experience. My success has included awards through FEMA’s AFG, CalFire’s VFA, Firemen’s Fund Heritage Grant, State Farm, and several others.
