Act as the Community Manager for the Department of State’s Social Media website called the “Social Media Hub.” This website presents State Department social media best practices, field guides on how to use different social media platforms, resources for State Department employees on how to effectively use social media, and a forum for discussion on social media topicsSupport and educate the Public Diplomacy community on the strategic use of different technologies with an emphasis on social media to enhance their outreach and build local communities.Support major international events including Presidential and Secretarial trips by increasing engagement, fusing traditional and non-traditional media.By collaborating with public and private organizations, serving as a think-tank, experimenting and piloting cutting edge technologies that can be used for public diplomacy.

I volunteer with SportsChallenge Leadership and Education Alliance to help them with their social media strategy to better engage with their campers, potential campers, and donors. I work with the SportsChallenge team to plan and execute a social media campaign consisting of developing a blog, a Twitter account and a Facebook fan page. I also trained the team in how to manage the Twitter account while they were at the 2010 Summer Academy to fully engage with their followers. With the rest of the team I also collaborate with the Board of Directors and Advisory Board on strategy and long-term goals for the organization.
