I returned to PwC in early 2018 after a brief period contracting as an Agile Coach/Delivery Lead. My main role during this time was as the Technology Workstream and Agile Delivery Lead on London South Bank University’s student experience transformation programme. I also acted as Scrum Master for 6 months on one of PwC’s own delivery projects.As PwC’s main Agile specialist within the Technology Consulting practice, I worked with colleagues to launch the Agile Society – a community to provide coaching, mentoring and support to Agile practioners across PwC which is now over 400 members strong.I also developed PwC’s Agile delivery method for deploying Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) products (such as CRM systems). It focusses on implementing rigorous, yet flexible controls via a governance model that minimises unnecessary development effort whilst promoting technical quality at all stages of implementation.

I coached StepChange Debt Charity towards becoming a more agile organisation through training, mentoring and supporting their adoption of Scrum as well as other Agile techniques such as Google Design Sprints. These new ways of working were put in place to support the delivery of their multi-million pound transformation programme. Within the programme I had responsibility for the CRM implementation workstream managing a team of 20 analysts, designers, developers and testers.

I led the design and delivery of a cloud-based (AWS) Tenant Portal for the Housing Association sector using Agile techniques. The product was architected as a secure, highly-available and elastic (able to scale both up and down to meet demand) service which has now been launched to the UK market.

I led large, complex technology and digital programmes for PwC using Agile techniques with a particular focus on Higher Education and Local Government. During my time with PwC I held a number of senior positions including the head of PwC’s Agile Practice and the UK’s Technology Lead for Higher Education. I led the technology elements of some of the UK firm’s most iconic business transformation programmes and promoted the firm through the publication of thought leadership and speaking at high profile conferences and events. I worked directly with the C-Suite of some of PwC’s major clients managing the relationship between the technology delivery team and senior stakeholders within the business.

A short-term contract role supporting Trustmarque’s transition to Agile development practices and developing their growth strategy for Microsoft Dynamics CRM with a particular focus on the Public Sector.

I was the operational lead for the Microsoft delivery team consisting of over 100 technical consultants and developers and was responsible for a portfolio of Agile programmes with total revenues of £12m per annum.As the team grew, I retained a hands-on delivery role and led a number of 2e2’s larger programmes as the Engagement Director and provided a combination of Agile/Scrum coaching, quality assurance, architectural support and software delivery best practice guidance to other programmes.

e-scape media was a Digital Media start-up when Dan joined the Senior Management Team in September 2002. e-scape media specialised in creating innovative marketing solutions for large blue-chip clients and as Head of Delivery, Dan had responsibility for the software projects delivered to those clients. Through our unique propositions, we grew the business rapidly increasing both turnover and market share until eventually the business was sold to MediaClash, under whose ownership the business has continued to grow.

Ascension Software was a provider of specialist digital and marketing services to the Entertainment and Media sector. Incorporated during a difficult time for technology firms, Ascension Software quickly gained traction and won a number of significant contracts.

IPL is a software development company that specialises in real time and safety critical systems. I started my career as a Software Developer progressing to a Technical Consultant during my time at IPL.
