I am a retired partner of the Vorys Akron office and practiced in the areas of general litigation, product litigation, employment law, and workers’ compensation. I focused on defense of matters in federal and state courts in Ohio and surrounding states including litigation of mass tort claims involving alleged benzene and manganese exposures. I am licensed in the state and federal courts of Ohio, and am admitted to practice in the United States District Court of Ohio, the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the United States District Court, District of Nebraska.I started my career at Vorys in its Columbus office in 1976, opened the firm’s Cleveland office in 1982 and served as its managing partner from 1983-2004.  I opened the firm’s Akron office in 2004 and served as the managing partner of that office from the time it was opened until my retirement on January 1, 2017.I am a frequent lecturer for both the Self-Insured Group of Ohio and The Ohio Self-Insurers Association on medical and legal issues.
