Product Owner - Servicing And CollectionsAlliant Credit Union Apr 2019 - Jan 2020Greater Chicago AreaHaving gained valuable experience on the loan origination side of the business, I wanted to deepen my understanding of the full lending process by transitioning to the servicing side, supporting collections and loan servicing.Spent hundreds of hours with collectors, loan servicing analysts, repossession specialists, and recovery teams. I listened, learned, and dug deep into the challenges they faced. I saw the inefficiencies firsthand, understanding how broken processes impacted both the business and our members. As the system administrator of our collections system, Temenos, I worked with the team to address these inefficiencies where possible by building automated workflows and queues.Partnered with vendors and stakeholders, uncovering where gaps existed and identifying where changes would make the biggest impact. I learned which metrics mattered in collections and recovery—charge-off rates, recovery timelines, and asset liquidation—and knew how to influence them. Partnering closely with the Senior Manager of Collections and Loan Servicing, I led key operational projects, including automating asset recovery workflows, developing a payment reconciliation process for post-charge-off debt, and reducing manual hours spent on building reports.By working directly with the team and leading from within, I developed a deep understanding of the entire lending lifecycle. Data became the backbone of our decisions, and I partnered with the Decision Intelligence team to pull complex reports and turn insights into action. -
