Responsible for all aspects of technology focused on building a strong Agile/Scrum culture to deliver a microservice based learning platform that supports multi-media content authoring and a cutting edge personalized learning and assessment experience. I took over the VP of Engineering role during a transition period and implemented a wide variety of agile process, architecture, dev-ops and eCommerce platform changes.- Agile Scum: Implemented a robust Scrum methodology that delivered consistent bi-weekly releases for over 18 months after several months without software deliverables prior to joining.- Documentation: Instituted a documentation philosophy leveraging Confluence resulting in over 500 pages of detailed operational and software development documentation.- eCommerce: Migrated the eCommerce platform from a home-grown single sale model to a fully subscription based model leveraging Chargebee. The migration included building a micro-service integration layer to isolate K2P from eCommerce and focus on provisioning license for broad variety of product models or future eCommerce migrations.- Microservices: Lead the architectural shift from an EC2 service oriented architecture to a highly scaleable microservice architecture. The initial platform was wholly server based with Rails services and React front ends hosted on multiple heterogeneous EC2 instances. Migrated all React applications to cloud front and all new development to microservices running in light weight Kubernetes (EKS) containers.
