UpRising is a nationwide youth leadership charity. The organisation runs a number of different programmes aimed at developing the leadership skills of young people across the UK. After completing the programme in 2010-2011 and gaining exceptional amounts from partaking in it, it's an honour to be appointed as a Trustee and a massive statement about the great work the organisation does.

Hero was a marketing agency that worked specifically with socially-driven organisations and those specifically working in the creative sector or with young people.The company later diversified and became a consultancy specialising in the creation of social value. We worked with private sector organisations to help them create and then articulate social value to enable them win public sector contracts.Alongside this, we worked with public sector bodies to identify the needs of those they have a mandate to serve. We then mapped out how potential suppliers can use their resources and capacities to meet these needs, maximising the social value added they received from each contract.We did this in response to the Social Value Act 2012 - a revolutionary new piece of legislation that encourages private organisations to do something good in the community.

The RSA Academies are a set of academy schools across the West Midlands.As the school's sponsor, the RSA Academies has a responsibility for the education and personal development of the school's pupils.My role as a trustee is to oversee the long-term strategy of the organisation and manage the inevitable risks.

The Art of Leadership is a training programme that supports the development of young people who aspire to become creative leaders in their city.The programme, which is funded by the Birmingham Leadership Foundation, provides a unique insight into Birmingham's creative sector, whilst training and up-skilling each individual to become better and more capable leaders.

Through completing the 'Get On Board' programme ran by ACGP Global, I qualified as a Corporate Governance Practitioner. The course gave me both practical and theoretical experience of corporate governance, all of which has been invaluable as I now sit on a number of both corporate and non-corporate boards. I was also the youngest person in the country to graduate from the course.
