Our set-up is quite good in that developer's are able to create shareable preview environments for the Pull Requests, and they are also able to easily work locally running part of the applications locally and part in the cloud. I have also contributed to moving our infrastructure on top of Pulumi, and automating infrastructure deployments.As I have found my role in the company, I have also become very involved in the software development of our backend (and some frontend) applications. The work has been mostly using Typescript and node.js.Recently, with our latest product (Twice Market), I have had a leading role in the optimisation of our database queries (PostgreSQL). My research revolved around using lightweight Docker containers to provision resource-constrained IoT devices. I used Docker Swarm and custom software tools on Intel Edison and Raspberry Pi embedded devices.I also developed an automated grading system to grade Android applications developed by students using UI automation and testing frameworks. Implemented with Docker containers deployed through Kubernetes.

I developed an Android application (Imprez.io) that allowed existing print media (e.g. magazines, newspapers, books) to add augmented reality experiences to their publications. I was in charge of designing the architecture of the system and implementing the app, as well as the backend.

I worked on various algorithms that were used to provide ad and article recommendations across some of Germany's largest publishers.
