Together with a team of full-time and freelance photographers and videographers, Sound Originals documents 1,000 weddings each year across 30+ markets, including New York, Connecticut, Washington, California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida, Colorado, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, Massachusetts, and the Washington/Maryland/Virginia area. Sound Originals serves a lot of couples, but we're really just a small family of committed photographers and videographers.Before launching the company, Dan was an award-winning broadcast journalist. He worked 10+ years as a television reporter, producer and anchor for NBC, ABC and CBS local stations in Washington, Oregon, Florida, Wisconsin and North Carolina, including KING-TV in Seattle, KATU-TV in Portland, WKOW-TV in Madison, Wisconsin, WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, WRAL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina, and WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina.Dan's work was honored with 5 EMMY AWARDS and an Alfred I. duPont Award from Columbia University. The duPont is widely regarded as the television counterpart to the Pulitzer Prize, which is also awarded by Columbia. Dan is believed to be the youngest journalist in history to receive the duPont, at age 26, at a ceremony in New York alongside CBS’ “60 Minutes,” ABC’s “20/20” and PBS’ “Frontline”.Dan spent the last several years reporting for KING-TV, the NBC affiliate in Seattle. KING’TV’s parent company, Tegna Inc., selected Dan based on his innovative spirit and entrepreneurial skills to develop, produce and co-host two pilot television shows working with a national team of producers and filmmakers. Dan left KING in the summer of 2017 to launch Sound Originals.In addition to excellent writing, production and interviewing skills, Dan is an avid photographer and videographer with an eye for beautiful images.
