In April 2015 JEI was a company with over 2,000 employees, 35 locations across 5 states, 31 casinos and other entertainment venues with annual revenue over $425 million. At that time there was no IT Security Program, or staff.In 18 months I established an IT Security Program with the following accomplishments, responsibilities and duties;• Developed, implemented, and maintained security requirements, policies and procedures for: appropriate use of LAN, WAN, Mobile, and remote (VPN) access for employees, clients, customers, and vendors, incident response, vulnerability management, change management, systems monitoring, logging and alerting.• Successfully managed a corporate wide firewall implementation and network segmentation, project as part of a larger plan for all hardware, systems, and infrastructure to become PCI compliant. • Established and performed audit logging, network scans, and vulnerability management.• Planned, designed and acquired competitive bids for physical security and access control systems for corporate offices. • Implemented ‘Insider Threat’ prevention policies and procedures for Administrative rights monitoring, management and alerting.• Evaluated, purchased, implemented and maintained Employee IT Security Awareness training program with ongoing ‘phish testing’ and training. Integrated Employee IT Security training and learning management system with Human Resources department policies and procedures.• Responsible for ensuring that IT systems operated within Colorado Department of Gaming (CDOG) regulations and State of Nevada Internal Controls Minimal Procedures (ICMPs).• Replaced a legacy email gateway (MX Logic/McAfee) with current technology (Mimecast).• Built an IT Security Roadmap for JEI to follow through 2017.
