Integrated the Front-End Development team into IT, and continually refine our hiring practices to ensure we are staffing each cross-functional lab across the department with appropriate talent. Continually hiring engineers to staff labs to support our growth, providing guidance and support to them while enabling these self-organizing teams to do their best work.Strong advocate for the developer experience, partnering with other internal groups to build relationships and get funding for hardware and software needed to improve the working environment for the development community.

Helped define a new way of working to enable Vanguard to create world class experiences for our clients. Defined the staffing model for each lab, as well as the maturity model that we use to set goals at the CX program level for each function. Developed forecasts for headcount required for the UX and front-end development functions.Developed hiring procedures including code screens and interview guides for the front-end development function.Built a team that is supporting all the Client Experience labs in their use of experimentation to deliver business value. Promoted experimentation practices and methodologies within the labs, encouraging teams to “fail fast” by testing and learning through rapid iteration.Worked with senior leadership across Vanguard to break down barriers that were slowing us down from delivering business value.Started the front-end development chapter at Vanguard, promoting knowledge-sharing and informal connections among crew to discuss technical topics. Encouraged crew to stay on top of technology trends and bring outside knowledge into Vanguard to keep us current with our tools and technologies.

Worked closely with our graphic designer to create a first-class website for Respect Is Earned, a new Mixed Martial Arts Fight League (http://www.rie-mma.com). Created an e-commerce system to generate barcoded online ticket vouchers to be scanned at each of the events. Developed a suite of administration tools to maintain the site with ease.

Developer of working prototypes to demonstrate cutting-edge technologies to enhance our website design.

Designed test plans and test cases to successfully test a high profile financial application. Executed the test cases and reported errors to the development team. Retested application after fixes were in place. Repeated the process until all test cases passed. As part of this project, I designed and developed an automated process to run our test cases and report the results. This process significantly reduced the amount of time required to test the application. As a result, we were able to run more test cases than originally planned in the time that we had to test, and ended up with a higher quality product for the same cost.
