Having the benefit of two hugely different career foundations, substance misuse but also mental health and wellness awareness has become a reoccurring theme to which I find myself returning to as the landscape changes in such a small place like Jersey, the taboo surrounding these issues has started to change. My focus long term is to establish a proper relief pathway that is multi facet and most importantly person centred, and completely interlinked with the pre established services and agencies within the island being involved at the pivotal point in which people need assistance. Eventually taking the awareness around things like sobriety, substance misuse awareness and prevention rather than cure being the view, the island can move inline with other leading areas geographically that have already proven that statistics change significantly for the better when taking a fresh angle to rehabilitation as a whole.
