CurrentMy vision for Purpose Equity began nearly a decade ago when my law firm was helping a client finalize the sale of his business. Toward the end of the process, I began to ask more questions about my client’s motivation for selling his business in the first place. Through our conversations, I discovered that his ultimate goal was maintaining employment for his staff. Had we uncovered that purpose earlier, we might have determined that selling the business was not actually the best course of action to meet his objective. When we’re able to zoom out from a client’s initial ask and get a fuller picture, often a better path forward—one filled with purpose—emerges. That path is exactly what we aim to identify for our Purpose Equity clients.Purpose Equity offers simplified exit planning and investments for values-driven business owners. My partner and I are committed to asking the difficult, but important, questions to help our clients navigate the business transition process with confidence, integrity, and fulfillment. Ultimately, we seek to help business owners understand the value of their businesses, protect the legacies they’ve built, maximize and harvest business value, and enjoy the next phases of their lives. In my role as founder and managing director, I leverage more than a decade of experience helping clients navigate business transitions. Through the years, I have had the opportunity both to personally experience the impacts of a poor business transition and to facilitate wise business transitions that left owners and founders fulfilled.
