When you’re living with a mental illness, the boundaries and limits of your ambition are pre set. I want to show that this is an illusion. ⭐️What do you do?I am the Co - founder of Da Silly Heads. Da Silly Heads is a social enterprise whose aim is to create more accessible ways to engage in dialogue around mental health.⭐️How is this done? We design advocacy apparel, or clothing with purpose. Our products are strategically designed with subtle internal & external messaging to visually advocate for mental health, express solidarity with individuals struggling through poor mental health, and to be that ice breaker at kitchen tables, office water coolers, and college corridors around the topic. These products are all linked through colour to the Our Silly Heads, a set of five 3D animated characters, four of which represent a mental illness, and one which represents the individual living with these labels. The characters are our depictions of a diagnosis or experience we have lived through, and by externalising these labels to Our Silly Heads, we can focus on breaking through our goals and ambitions in life. ⭐️Can I see these products?Sure, head to www.dasillyheads.com to gain an insight to what we are about. Our first product Da Silly Bobble Hat will be ready to launch in October 2020. ⭐️What else do you offer?Rolling in behind our products, we have designed an engaging and educating workshop on mental health advocacy. The workshop is a 60 minute journey not only on how we use advocacy, but on a personal story of mental illness, and dealing with the impact of mental health stigma . Our products also play a part in our workshop, with the option of participants taking away a tangible and functional product to use in advocating for the cause. Our Silly Heads have an important role with regards to the visuals of our workshop, appearing in animation on screen, bringing the whole package together. This is how we begin in...Putting a Face on Mental Health.⭐️What did you do before this project?I returned to college in 2015 after I lost my job at the end of 2014. At the same time I was going through an insolvency process with the possibility of losing my home, a stress no husband and father wants, however...In 2019 I graduated with distinction and received my Bachelor of Business degree from Cork Institute of Technology.⭐️Interested in how our movement can add value to your workplace, college or community?Feel free to message me here or reach out to dan@dasillyheads.com🙂
