I have served as a strategic advisor to healthcare organizations for most of my career, consulting with an array of health plan, provider, and specialty health companies. I support clients with strategy, business planning, organic and acquisitive growth, new venture development, product and capability development, market entry, partnerships, and performance turnaround.As an original member of HealthScape Advisors, I’ve had the fulfilling opportunity to contribute significantly to the launch and development of a leading consultancy that has a national footprint today. We started small with about 20 people and a handful of clients. Today we’ve grown to 175+ advisory resources and served over 300 healthcare organizations over the past ~15 years. As Managing Partner, my responsibilities include LOB strategy and leadership, business development and client/engagement leadership in support of HealthScape and the broader Chartis enterprise. My expertise spans across all major market segments:• Traditional gov't healthcare programs and regulated products, including Medicare Advantage, Medicaid and Duals programs, CMMI, other state programs, and the ACA• Major federal programs administered by the Defense Health Agency (e.g. TRICARE, Military OneSource, Military and Family Life Counseling) and the Veterans Health Administration• Commercial markets, including both fully insured and self-funded (ASO) I have deep knowledge within critical business model and capability areas:• Network and value-based strategies • Integrated behavioral health models and innovation• Care management model and program design • Operating model design and transformation • Corporate development (partnerships, joint ventures, M&A)• Healthcare vendor evaluation and implementation • RFP response strategy and development (major gov’t and customer contracts)Prior to HealthScape, I worked in Arthur Andersen’s and Huron Consulting Group’s healthcare practices. I earned my MBA from the University of Chicago, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Notre Dame. While my work in healthcare is immersive, my first love is family. I’ve spent the p ast 25 years in Chicago where I met my wife and continue to raise our two wonderful children. My roots are in Pittsburgh, where I was born and raised, and my support for the Steelers remains strong. Outside of work and family, I spend my time serving as a board member for the nonprofit Betsy's Blankets, coaching little league baseball and basketball, seeing live music and the occasional Notre Dame football game.
