Our team focusses on the needs of enterprises looking to move their data analytics to GCP. Within this are we own workload migration, data migration, system assessment, and validation.3) BigQuery Administration features including system tables, Data Control Language and Data Definition Language features of SQL, administrator visualization, and administrator controls.

I founded the Data Analytics UI team to own the UIs of all the GCP Data Analytics tools including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Composer, and Data Catalog. Together with our UX collaborators, PMs, and TPMs, we work across the product portfolio working to turn the disparate products into a cohesive and coherent platform for data analytics.As a centralized team of specialists, we are somewhat unique in Google which typically has UI SWE embedded with backend teams. Since forming our team we have demonstrated a better ability to attract and retain top UI talent while still remaining focussed on and responsive to the backend teams' needs.

Initially responsible for the teams which build BigQuery and Dremel's query serving system. We handled everything from the planning and execution of the query statements, through the scheduling and dispatching of work in our enormous distributed system, to the reading and writing of data in our storage systems. I am especially passionate about making all data available to our query engine. Our goal is to meet users where they are and make accessing, querying, and joining their data simple and efficient no matter where it is stored.Later I grew to lead all of BigQuery as the acting director. In this role I grew the team to more than 50 SWE with associated SRE, TPM, and PM collaborators. In this role I planned strategy and set the execution roadmap for the product.
