I currently work on the ApplCore team as the project manager and primary developer for the web SmartTextBox control, a rich-text editor with "SmartTool" features that make writing notes quick and easy for clinicians. It's written primary in JavaScript and easily rivals Google Docs and other rich-text editors on the web for robustness and ease of use. It's written primary in JavaScript and easily rivals Google Docs and other rich-text editors on the web for robustness and ease of use. I also act as the primary Hyperspace Web rep for ApplCore and am actively involved in other Hyperspace Web projects and initiatives as a designer and developer.In addition, I work as a design consultant and occasional developer for EpicStudio, an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) I developed for Epic in my spare time over the course of my first few years there. I designed it to integrate with Epic's internal development processes, provide real-time function documentation and auto-complete support when coding, and overall be more user friendly than the tools previously available to developers for working in Cache, our database language. Over time, this side project grew to become an official product which has now been released to our customers, in addition to being used by almost every developer at Epic.During my time at Epic, I've also acted as a mentor for two full-time developers and one intern. For the intern, I was actively involved in his project to create a spell check utility from scratch in JavaScript, which proved to be a successful effort. I've also done software developer interviews for Epic and helped with other recruiting initiatives.Prior to joining ApplCore, I worked on the EpicCare Inpatient team on the Multidisciplinary and then Results Review pods.
